An under stairs closet is probably the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about what could best go in this space.

However, there are many alternatives. For those with an existing closet under the stairs, try upgrading the closet door for a quick way to spruce up the look.

When located near the entryway to the home, cabinets can be used to store shoes or jackets in an easily accessible area. Custom make some drawers to fit the height, width and depth of the underside of the stairs and you get oodles and oodles of space. These drawers, or even pull out cabinets can hold a ton of things, whether it be shoes, tools, games, cleaning supplies, you name it, you can store it.
